Thanks for visiting the Sandfish website. Sandfish Tackle is located in the quaint little village of Talkeetna, Alaska. We are a full-service fly and tackle shop, which provides a top notch guide service, owned and operated by David Fish and Alexander Bussen, aka "Sandy." We are two regular guys originally from Florida, where we fished together as kids. We actually grew up in a tackle and scuba shop that Dave's father still owns and operates. We started spending summers in Alaska in 1993. Finally, we moved here a couple years later. Talkeetna means "river of plenty," and that it is. This area provides some of the best stream fishing in Alaska. We get all five species of salmon, grayling, rainbow trout, and Dolly Varden. Our guided trips range from a half-day trip to seven-day trips. Overnight fish and float trips are the best way to experience the "Real Alaska."
